Who has it better in our society, men or women? Debate

i personally think women have it better

I think both of them have it pretty bad because we live in kind of a crappy world but in different places it is different so in one country, men might have it worse then women but in another women might have it worse. So really you have to look at the place to judge who has it better

i mean in our society not third world countries cause then its obviously women who suffer more

periods. Pregnancy. Guys have it better...

umm longer prison sentences, guilty until proved innocent, percieved as potential rapists, seen as potential rapists, men can't be raped in the eyes of the law, the justice system favours women, has almost no rights over his child, i could go on

I think it's about equal. Men are discriminated against and so are women. We're all judged and treated like shit.

In most countries around the world, men undoubtedly have it better. In modern, Western societies, I think it depends on the situation. For example, Mothers are disproportionately (and many times, unjustifiably) given custody of the children over Fathers.

@CalvnKlein, On the other hand, for many job positions, women are still discriminated against in the workplace (despite being as highly qualified as their male counterparts).

I think this is a question that it's important not to answer based on anecdotal evidence, because it's too subjective. Evidence points to black men having a rough time of things, and women in general are still not paid what men are.

I think things are different depending on which region you are in as well, and what age group. There is mounting evidence that girls are currently being given preferential treatment in grade school, e.g. As a whole though, the older the age group, the more males have more rights than females.

I'd just like to comment that the wage gap is exaggerated and inaccurate, and apparently women get paid more hourly than men, so I mean, it evens out

@👑MirandaKnowsWhat'sUp👑, I know for a fact that is not true. Maybe for some jobs (not any that I know of). But for the most part, if not always, if there is a gender that gets paid more for the exact same job description, it's most certainly men

@CalvnKlein That's what my history teacher said and he's not the kind of guy who would just make up stuff or get information from invalid sources

And even if women do get paid less, maybe we just aren't as aggressive in general and don't negotiate our salaries as well or don't push for raises as often (in general, of course). Plus, women have a chance of getting pregnant, so the employer might have to worry about maternity leave and all that. And the wage gap doesn't take into account that men work more hours than women (in general), so of course they make more money.

Depends on where you live, but all in all Males definitely have it better. Being male does have it's negatives.

I honestly think men have it better...this is coming from a guy, women are; underpaid for the same jobs, abused, misused, and harmed in almost every possible way....women have it worse than us guys...they always have...and that needs to change.

men are abused. 78% of unprovoked domestic abuse victims are male. Around 40% of domestic abus are male. Over 70% of homeless people are male. The most suicides each year is by men. Most homicide victims are male etc etc

i could go on if you want about how the law favours women over men and how men are guilty until proven innocent

What about all the women in the world who can't have jobs, join military, vote, choose their spouse, etc?
