@ HCAveragejoe I'm just saying they should have the same rights and be allowed what other people can. That's not going to happen though as gay marriage is already legal in many parts of the world & is on the road to being legalized in many other parts so there isn't anything going to be changed at this point. So the debate is marriage and marriage equality. I completely understand and respect the point you're making and it's a better point than any other person can make on here but it still isn't going to happen.. It's legal in certain places and tbh civil partnership was the closest thing they've done that's like what you're saying but it doesn't allow them all the same rights because of how laws are written. It's not as simple as just adding a new 'thing' for gays, laws would still have to changed/rewritten and it would make far more sense just to allow marriage. It's very complicated issue I understand there's a lot to be considered

Also there are tests, if you fail, your punishment is hell. By the way, the bible is an old book, but there are many facts in it, such as Noah's Great Flood. Scientific Fact that it is real. Also the last book was written less than 2000 years ago. One person might be Hitler, or the Vikings. Or the people that hate us Christians just for being Christian. My opinion is similar to @Jasmine's. I don't care who has sex with whom, but I believe MARRIAGE between the same sex is wrong. I'm no ones judge, but I have an opinion. Marriage is a sanctity between two ppl, and is a promise to God. It's just completely wrong for the same sex to marry. I feel society is going too far with the acceptance of this. In these days, you're shunned if you are not on the side of the gay rights. I want to be made clear, I do not care who is gay. I simply believe that gay marriage is an abomination. @ HCAveragejoe marriage is a piece of paper, that's gives you those rights - it doesn't have to be associated in any way with religion or take place in a church. Many people choose not to get married in a church but they can still get legally married if they're atheists or whatever. It's really not about religion or the church. People want to be married in the eyes of the state and for the same rights

@Skylar also quick comment - to use the whole reproduction argument.. You're saying they shouldn't get married because they can't reproduce so what about straight couples that for whatever reason can't have kids? Should they not be allowed either?

Marriage is something that in some places is restricted to only straight people, and many want gay couples to be allowed the right to marry. It's to allow then the same rights that any other married couple can have and that's obtained by getting married.

It's not "messed up", it's different.
