I feel that denying them rights would only hinder their transition into society once they've served their time and only result in them committing more crimes - the only right they should be denied is their physical freedom whilst serving their sentence

A privilege isn't a right, though I disagree with denying them education and books.

And they should have the right to vote, everyone should, I don't think that right should be denied to anyone. Maybe some restrictions such as life sentences but for those who will rejoin society, they should be allowed.
