I disagree ... It's part of male privilege and it takes up so much fucking space that it's unfair to other passengers. If you want your danglers to flow free then just fucking stand up, don't inconvenience other people by taking up all the space.

i dont claim to be oppressed when i see women sitting with their bags next to them on trains and buses. Isnt it hypocritical that men get criticised for covering a bit of another seat with their leg but women can get away with taking a whole seat up with bags

It's not an issue if you're on public transport and there's loads of space - in that case, sit however you want. Just as if there are spare seats then I might put my bag on the seat next to me. However, if there are people who are standing up on the bus / tube / train because all the seats are taken, then I would move my bag. Women who don't are arseholes. Just as men who continue to sit with their legs open wide when their are people sitting either side of them / standing up, are arseholes. It's just about common courtesy. The reason I suppose it is made into a feminist issue is because (some) men go, well, I have a dick so I need to sit like this - everyone else can deal with it or ask me to move. You should just be moving anyway. Just because you have a penis does not give you the right to take up twice as much space on a packed tube.

You shouldn't have to wait for someone to ask you to move your legs (which, FYI, telling someone to move parts of their body is much more awkward than making it obvious that someone has their bag on a chair and you need to sit down)

but say im sat down, i dont realise my leg is covering a part of her chair, i've just sat like i normally would, and she doesnt tell me, im assuming nothing is wrong so why would i move if i dont think there is a problem
