I think it's weird, and I would find someone else to like. But technically, most states don't prohibit marriages between individuals less related than first cousins. (California allows first cousins to marry, too.) I kind of doubt he's your fourth cousin, though. Look at a Wikipedia article on first, second, and first-once-removed. Technically a fourth cousin would be someone who has the same great great great-grandparents as you.
