Is the federal reserve a government agency?

idk we didint talk about this last year and im only 13 so i cant vote our teacher did a shitty job at teachin us about the government last year

well the answer is no it's not. Our money is issued and controlled by a PRIVATE centralized bank. Which is NOT what our founding fathers wanted for this country.... Thanks Hoover 😐

Not quite right, also it has nothing to do with hoover, but with wilson. While the federal reserve is privately owned, it is controlled by a chairman appointed by the president and only has any influence due to having a government granted monopoly on currency
