No it's just I've used those words since I was little so I'm never going to stop using them when I've always used them if I had a gay brother or a Down syndrome brother than yea it would offend me

My one friend has a brother with a mental disability who has the mental capability of a 2-year-old even though I'm pretty sure he's a teenager, and even she says things are retarded fairly often. Also, my brother has Aspergers and one of my closest friends is gay but I still say both of those words.

If I were called those, I personally wouldn't be offended. But I do definitely agree that they are offensive terms when used in a derogatory manner.

I don't get offended when ppl call me those, cuz I know it's not true, but I get offended when I see someone call someone "gay", or "retarded". Lol, but I only say retarded when I'm joking... Like "hahahahaha, ur retarded", and I say gay when I'm serious... Like... "He's gay, u know that right?" I won't pick on somebody and say... "Eww... Dude, ur gay" It makes a difference in how u use it...

If you walk up to someone with a mental disability and ridicule them for being retarded, or if you walk up to a homosexual and so the same but with the term gay, that's not cool. I HATE THAT PEOPLE SAY THOSE THINGS!! First of all, being gay shouldn't be offensive, cause it isn't a bad thing to be. Secondly, saying retarted is like.. So man! I have friends like that, and I just say people with needs.

This one guy I've been food friends with for like 4 years is gay and my other good friend is bi, but I say gay. My friend's brother is special needs and my brother has a form of autism and I say retarded. It just doesn't bother me...

Oh... Well sorry if I offended u it's just one time in elementary school this popular guy who liked me was messing around with his friends and he said, "man that's so gay! (Laugh.)" I know I shouldn't have stepped in cause my mom told me to never talk about politics at school, but I did anyway. I walked up to them and said, "Ryan, what's so bad about being gay?" And he said, "are u kidding me? Claire, if I'm gonna marry into ur family I don't wanna have two dad in laws or two mom in laws. That would be discraceful to god and the work Adam and Eve did." Then he smirked and high dived his friends. He was quite a strong Christian and I respected that he followed his beliefs truly, so I walked away.

It's alright. I don't like when people discriminate against gays... Even if it's against your beliefs or whatever, you can still treat them like human beings
