Anyone else excited for the release of the Black Keys' new album Turn Blue?!

I can't wait 😃

After listening to the album, I'm kind of disappointed because the simple, edgy, garage-band sound that got them to the point they're at was their strength and what made them stand out, but here they go and throw in pointless synthesizers and other background noises that take away from their sound instead of adding to it. This is similar to how in my orchestra class, my teacher always explains to us we can't get a large sound and effect by going from forte (loud) to fortissimo (really loud), we need a decrescendo (going from loud to quiet) first, and then BOOM fortissimo. It's the same principle with the Blac Keys' music, you can't go from all these crazy put together filler noises in the verses to more crazy put together filler noises in the chorus, there needs to be more definition between the two, something that makes the chorus stand out more so it provides more interest to the ear, something that keeps the song from being boring. That's where I feel they messed up. They added all these extra sounds which in turn, abandoned their signature sound, disappointed their older fans, took away from the rocking guitar, bass and drums, and made the songs seem somewhat boring and overproduced.
