How should we measure the quality of one's life?

Just because he didn't do good things doesn't mean the quality of his life wasn't good. U can be rich and cruel and ur life would still be very luxurious and quality

Alright, so of you replace the word "quality" with "value", what'd you guys think? "Value" is kinda vague too, but I think it gets the idea across better

The richer they are the more valuable their life is

not more valuable to society

there are other things you can value besides materialistic things!

depends if their money helps the local economy flourish

the quality of the life depends on how they enjoyed their own life whereas value means how important was their life for others or how it impacted others

id prefer to be happy persinally

Yea, I think being happy is really important too, but then if you think of people like Martin Luther King Jr. who led a stressful life of being discriminated against and beat up and whatever, but must've been proud of himself and felt fulfilled

i think i'd still rather be rich and happy

alright fair enough I think I'd rather be in history books and honored around the world than be happy, but since there's no way that's gonna happen I'd choose happy over the other more practical outcomes

as long as i enjoy my own life i'll be fine i think
