Is there a such thing as a selfless act?

Even the most kind acts are done usually to make the person who does the kind act to feel better about themselves and be proud in who they are, or some other self-benefitting reason, so I don't know

@matreechi But if you didn't take a bullet for them, you'd have to live with the fact you could've saved someone, and you'd have to live through watching someone die which is awful. So by taking the bullet for them, you're saving yourself that grief, guilt, and trauma

if u do it for that reason then it's selfish but if u just take it out of trying to save a life then it's selfless. It's all in the motive. Almost anything can be selfless if u have the right motives.
