I'm just wondering what others think of this.

Why not? Kids probably should be exposed to homosexuality as an earlier age so they know it's all normal. It probably won't happen though, Disney would be too worries about all the homophobes

I can see how they may not be hitting a target audience (traditional families), thus not making a profit, which is probably why they wouldn't. But I think it could be beneficial to kids.

That would seem adequate with all the hatred going around. That could hopefully get people flipping their views on such matters.

Yeah maybe they could do a movie for teenagers about a homosexual couple in high school or something

@Felicity McDonald yeah, but I'm saying talking about a Disney movie for young kids with a couple.

I think it would be a great idea! Kids need to know that homosexuality is not abnormal and adults should teach their children that lesson too instead of hiding it from them.

@AnonymousToAnExtent what is your reasoning?

I think shows should have realistic people in them. When you change things around to fit the way you think it "should" be (like only white people or skinny people), it's dishonest and messes with kids' heads.

I think just normal, everyday gay people are important to include without making them "different" or focusing on their being gay. Treat it like they have different eye color; not a big deal.

@A ooh that's a good idea! I like it. If we don't focus on characters overcoming differences like this, they won't appear as differences b

It seems like they're trying to push the idea of homosexuality on people as young as 5 or 6, so I don't really support this.

It's not that I'm against homosexuality, I just hate when people try to push ideas or their own beliefs onto other people.

Homosexuality, at least I don't think, is not a great subject to present to a child, at least until they are 9. It's an odd subject, and isn't great for young minds.

The thing is, people may say that we are hating homosexuals, but, homosexuality is not a normal thing. I don't think it's a normal thing. It's not bad, it's different, though.

Technically it is normal, just not for our species.

EEEHHHHHH. I like Disney how it is. Nobody is ignoring gay people or putting them down. Just put that gayness into some other show or movie or company. Not Disney. Never Disney.

Disney is this original thing that shouldn't be tampered with. Even the new movies and characters are ehh. Disney has unrealistic images and stories that we all love and don't actually believe. Unless you're a moron.

It's obvious that all women and men are far from that of Disney's women and men. Children know that. Same thing with models and photoshopping nowadays. Same thing with the straightness of the Disney characters.

And the stories.

People generally know what sex they are interested in without the influence of a show. Homosexual people try so hard to show the world who and what they are. WE SEE YOU GUYS. Just don't try to weasel your way into the minds of innocent children. Man and woman is 'normal' to them

When they grow older, they can understand better. You know what, there should be a Disney 2 that has all the real world shit that Disney 1 lacks. Like young girls getting pregnant, gay people, drugs, obesity, government control, etc. that would be much better.

@AnonymousToAnExtent But the fact that a man and woman together is 'normal' for children is what is wrong and why we need representation in things like Disney movies; so they know that gay romances are normal and okay too.
