Should feminism's title be changed to Gender Equality Campaigns?

Feminism started because it was fighting for women's rights. While feminists strive for gender equality, we can't forget that the main objective is women's liberation. I think the name is fine.

But of course meninists love to accuse us of being sexist because of the word's terminology but whatever.

It might gain more supporters if it were changed, but it shouldn't have to be.

Yeeea. I feel like it would be taken more seriously if the name changed, but at the same time it's a bit ridiculous that we have to change the name that came from its origins just to get people to listen.

I honestly don't like the new feminism at all. 😑

I'm the kind of feminist that likes Dove (yah the soap)'s ad campaigns. They do things to benefit women, and men.

@👑MirandaKnowsWhat'sUp👑 Hm. Well Dove has done things to promote women's confidence and change beauty standards. They've also done some stuff to change stereotypes/expectations of men. And so I like that, cuz they're helping both genders.

Well that's good i think I remember one thing where they has someone meet women and describe them to an artist and they had the women describe themselves to an artist and compared the results-was that Dove?

Feminism is its own worst enemy. Maybe this isnt what it intends but it always portays men as evil. And it makes it sound like all men are evil perverts who want to rape little girls. This is the impression they give and therefore with the title feminism it will never gain much support from men

Plus feminism itself is to get women equal to men where men have it better but they dont do much in situations where women have it better than men

The name feminism itself causes a lot of men to assume that the members of the movements hate them because of the few individuals who do hate all men

so really it would be a more effective movement if it changed its name and some of its actions to help men as well as women

Some people have given feminists a bad name. You know the kind of people who shove nude pictures of themselves in people's faces to "empower women". They want people to stop censoring breasts because topless men aren't censored. It makes people think that all feminists are like that, but the majority aren't. 🐛
