I'm pretty sure almost no one who said yes has ever actually been depressed REALLY. They may have thought they were, but most people don't even know what depressed seriously means when they say they're depressed.
@your best friend ACTUALLY that's not true. If you go to a trained professional and ask them, they will not describe it as just being "sadder than sad". Because if so, any person going through heartbreak or something will claim they are depressed.
@Christina H. If someones just sad about, say ,they broke up with someone. Or they got in a fight with their friend. Or their parents wouldnt let then go to the mall. Thats not depressed. Sure, they might be sad, but its not depressed. Yes, i think this word is a level of sadness. Its when you literally are sad all the time. Like literally all the time. Like if your parents died. There would be a time you would actually be depressed.
@your best friend I don't think you get what I am saying. I know that if a loved one dies, you do end up depressed. But, what if you are happy? Do you think that even the happiest person, can be depressed?
@your best friend Actually, you are wrong. If you look online for what depression really is, is its a mental disorder. Some of the chemicals in your brain are thrown off. That's why pills help reduce depression. Because it regulates the chemicals in your brain. And that's why you can inherit depression from your parents.
No, I don't think I have. I've had some...rough moments, but they don't usually last more than two weeks.
I think of depression as more of a long term problem.
Idk. Maybe I have been, but I won't assume anything.
It's a serious problem. It's much more than being very upset or sad.
@Reese piece that is really sad. I'm so sorry for you. I was depressed and on Zoloft for about 3 years. I never attempted suicide, but thought about it often, & planned how I'd do it. I really hope ur meds help you get thru this.
@👑MirandaKnowsWhat'sUp👑 so it's like an illness or something? Like a mental thing? Anyone I ever knew was depressed was usually that way because they felt bad about themselves based on what people thought of them
@Tweetybird😘 Yep, it's a mental illness. That's why there's medication for it. People often get confused between depression and sadness, so I'm not sure which one the people you know actually had. But people with depression can be brought down a lot by insults and things like that, more so than normally.
@👑MirandaKnowsWhat'sUp👑 wow I never knew that! I learned something new! Thanks 😀!! I always view depressed people as people who just can't deal with emotionally pain and physically pain! I would've never thought it was an illness wow!
@Clairre:) depressed for what bro u live in LA and u live in a big ass house and ur parents have money and ur parents show u love and u have friends. I honestly don't get how u could be depressed. My dad passed when I was 8 and my best friend passed last year and my mom doesn't even pay attention to me most of the time and I get bullied pretty much everyday and I only have like 4 friends so look at ur life compared to my life. Bro u need to live my life then see how depressed you'll be. U have like nothing to be depressed about like seriously
