I just finished my first week of sixth grade. All my life I have had straight a's. Am I smart?

I'm in second year middle school (a year from highschool(I don't know how it works in america(I'm from Finland))) but my worst grade so far is 8/10 and my grade point average is 9.98/10 for 18 subjects. I'm a nerd too.

Well 6th grade is easy depending in which country you live.... Us is like sooooo not challenging and suppperr easy

in Finland 6th grade was hard. We had 3 book reports every month, 10 pages, book minimum 500 pages. 2 creative writing assignments/month. An hour presentation every 2 months, and a 25 page essay every 2 weeks.

Grades don't decide how smart you actually are. I believe you receive grades only from memorizing, (which is all school is made up of.) Intelligence comes from ones mind, which is not always shown throughout school work.

@kattster being intelligent is... Knowing things. You say school is about memorization. Yes, true, but memorizing METHODS, which you can apply later on in life, making know smart. Knowledge is also common sense, which you can also learn in school. I agree with the "grades dont decide how smart you are" part of your statement, but not where you say intelligence isnt shown in school work.

most people have straight as, but that doesn't make them smart, especially with your misuse of the apostrophe, which is used as a possessive rather than as a plural, so you are apparently not smart.

There's 2 kinds of smart:book smart and street smart. Getting straight A's doesn't necessarily mean that you are smart in all of life...but it definitely is a huge accomplishment that u should take pride in. A's do lead to college and then jobs, so keep working hard and it'll pay off!

Getting straight A's is good, but does not necessarily show your level of intelligence. You need to be smart at things other than math to get along in life, too.
