Is it better to be ignorant and happy, or to be knowledgeable and feel weighed down by that knowledge?

knowledgable, for sure. It will help in developing how you feel about things and make the right choices and opinions, even if it means having overwhelming information. You can use it to your advantage. Being ignorant and happy almost strikes you as maybe bigoted and "conforming." Learning can help you into being a happy person and a smart one, too. 🐙

@Zoë I agree that being knowledgeable can help you form your own opinions and stand out, but it doesn't always make you happy. For example, I know two people who suffer from depression and constantly think about depressing philosophical shiz, and they said it worsens their depression, brings them down, and takes away the magic in the word. Also, little kids are overexcited about a lot of little things, whereas adults don't because they know that everything is impermanent and little things don't matter too much. So that knowledge keeps us from being happy like children. And then there is of course the argument about how it's better to not know how shitty this world is and every horrifying thing that happens to people

@👑MirandaKnowsWhat'sUp👑 you make a good point. I didn't think of it that way. I was thinking about the way people are literally ignorant to knowing something, like they're close-minded, as in, they won't adhere to other people's opinions but they're own. the type of knowledge that comes with being depressed is a very different story, so I guess I misinterpreted the question

There's not such thing as a misinterpretation of anything philosophical! Just different points of view :) I get what you mean

I forgot about this question... I like this one. I've been debating about this with my friend recently, actually.

i think it depends on the situation or topic, say u really like Mcnuggets, u don't want to know the truth about how they're made, but u don't want to be totally oblivious to everything and think the world's perfect. I think it's best to have a balance of the two
