In the past religion has advanced society/pushed it forward and on a personal level it can be very beneficial to some people, but it has also caused wars and unjust judgements and brainwashes people and in doing so, slowed human progression. Is Christianity any better or more realistic or likely than any other religion, including those of ancient Egyptians? No.

I'm very much so supportive of gay rights and a woman's right to choose abortion (things most Christians do not agree with). Idk, I feel like the universe is so complex that perhaps there is some higher being directing it all.

CalvnKleinI was raised deeply Catholic. I do consider myself to be a religious man, Catholic specifically. However, I absolutely recognize that MANY religious traditions and laws are flawed, outdated, and some just plain wrong.

A@CalvnKlein Do you consider yourself more "culturally" Catholic? I know a lot of Jewish people who consider themselves culturally Jewish, and your reasoning sounds really similar to theirs. If you believe religious laws are written by men, and not by a supernatural force, then it seems that points to you being more culturally Catholic, perhaps.
