Sarah(FAM/PMS)I hit hate by accident, but I think love is more powerful. At least, in the sense that it is more important and brings greater value and happiness to people. Also, with love it is easy to ignore hate.

NotoriousBut hate can cause people to think and behave irrationally, ultimately causing the destruction of countless relationships and the ending of many lives. Hate can blind a person and drag them down into the arms of uncontrollable rage. Hate can last for years and years and turn a person's heart to utter ash.

Sarah(FAM/PMS)@AnonymousToAnExtent I'm sorry, it's too long to read.

Notoriousoh, screw you heycrowd. *Hate can cause a person to think and behave irrationally, ultimately destroying the relationships that people once had. It is blinding to the point where some may take the lives of those that were once close to the heart.

NotoriousLove can drown hate with cool, healing buckets of water, but a fire can never be controlled with a mere droplet. So that makes hate just as powerful, depending on who is harboring it.

NotoriousThis is a tough question.

Sarah(FAM/PMS)True... I was thinking more along the lines of how love or hate would affect an individual's happiness. Not heir hate, but the hate of someone else that is directed at them.

NotoriousI understood what you were saying. But the question was, which is the stronger emotion? And as much as we sit here and debate or give examples or argue about it, we can never determine which is stronger.

NotoriousHate comes in all forms and in all different people. Same as love. They are merely different in terms of how they make people feel. HOWEVER could we not say that having a love for hate is valid? Or a hate for love? Eh? Hehehehe.

Sarah(FAM/PMS)Hm. Idk. You can't measure emotions, not truly. To me though, if you choose the right emotion to live by, you can do much greater things.

NotoriousAh, that is very true. The optimist, eh? ;-) but some people just like to see the world burn. But if we were ever faced with an apocalypse, I'd jump in your love boat because I much prefer peace. Well.. To an extent.

Sarah(FAM/PMS)Look at Hitler, his actions were done out of hate. In the end, the Holocaust provided no benefit to his society or any other. It was a living hell and brought him infamy.

NotoriousAh but if you were to ask Hitler why he did what he did, he would tell you that it was merely for the love of an ideal world.

NotoriousNot to say what he did was right, but people will give you the side to their story. Depends on what you believe in that determines what side of the line you are on. Love or Hate. Peace or War. Right or Wrong. Hm?

Sarah(FAM/PMS)Yes, but he still hated the Jewish people, as well as others who were different from his "perfect Aryans"

NotoriousEven though all the things that I see as wrong and morally incorrect, such as the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the destruction of the Japanese, 9/11, The holocaust, the civil war, etc., I wouldn't change a thing. It's simply the cycle of life.

NotoriousAnd Hitler was an assbag. But still a violent and powerful businessman. A master manipulator and control freak. He had talents, got to give him that. But he was also ruthless and cruel. Evil yet brilliant.

NotoriousThe perfect villain for a young Jewish boy in a concentration camp. The perfect hero for a young German boy raised to be a Nazi General.

Sarah(FAM/PMS)So, his hate (or as you say, love, but in the wrong way) lead him down a dark and evil path. Love does the opposite.

NotoriousYes.. I see your point. And I feel you are correct. But cannot love lead one down a dark and evil path, too? Here's some examples:

Sarah(FAM/PMS)Love is blinding.

NotoriousA young woman head over heels for heroin. It helps her get through the days in peace. Helped her make friends and helped her feel better in times of turmoil. Now she is without money and a home and without a job. Sent to jail.

Sarah(FAM/PMS)Or perhaps it is not only love, rather lust. Romeo and Juliet for ex.

Sarah(FAM/PMS)Yeah, heroin sucks. That's a different kind of love. More a dependency than anything.

NotoriousAn old man who was in love with an abusive wife. She beat him and spat in his face. Cheated on him and tried to frame him and send him to jail for domestic violence. He commits suicide.

NotoriousAh see, it can be a dependency. A need, a craving, an addiction. But is that not what love is? A need to be safe and happy and with a person? Or with artwork or with something?

NotoriousIf you don't have love, what do you have? Sadness, hate, jealousy, depression, loneliness. Love is dependent. Someone needs something to make them happy.

Sarah(FAM/PMS)Hm. Some love is more than that tho. The dependency, the need, is a two way street.

NotoriousAnd some love isn't.

Sarah(FAM/PMS)But is that actually love? Or is it mislabeled?

NotoriousWho is to determine what love is? Doesn't it present itself to everyone differently? Like hate? A love for Jesus, a hate for life, a love for children, a hate for parents, a love for war, a hate for peace.

Sarah(FAM/PMS)Hm that is true. Everyone has their own interpretation. So then, I don't think you can compare the affects of love and hate and decide which has more power. It's just not possible.

NotoriousThere are different stages to love as a general thing. Like hate. But the question still unanswered. Which is stronger ;) both are blinding, both can lead to fucked up and awesome situations. Example of fucked up:

Sarah(FAM/PMS)Haha, you and your examples.

NotoriousHitler hated the Jews. He killed them. Jews sad. Nobody likes him.

NotoriousExample of awesome hate: Everyone hated hitler. They killed him. Everyone happy again. No more killing of Jews. Yay

NotoriousExample of fucked up love: Woman loves abusive husband. He kills her after she comes home late. Example of awesome love: Man loves to paint. Paints Mona Lisa. Mona Lisa and him become known worldwide. Rich in spirit.

Sarah(FAM/PMS)Well, not really yay. It didn't fix what he did, killing him, that is.

Sarah(FAM/PMS)Leonardo da Vinci was boss.

NotoriousBut it did stop the further killing of the Jews, did it not?

NotoriousYes he was. I have his book of notes and drawings. The man is a legend.

Sarah(FAM/PMS)I did a project on him. Could never find actual confirmation of his sexual preference. It seems it's generally accepted that he was a homosexual, have you read otherwise?

NotoriousOn Leonardo Da Vinci?

Sarah(FAM/PMS)And yes, it did stop the killing of the Jews and other prisoners.

NotoriousIt would make sense, though. Back in his time, homosexuals were all over the place. Especially in the time of King Henry the VIII's reign.

Notorious*Also in the time of his reign.

Sarah(FAM/PMS)Florence.....

NotoriousInteresting how conversation just slowly turns to a different street. It's great. 👹

Sarah(FAM/PMS)Weren't they called Florentinos? Or something like that??

NotoriousWhat about Florence?

Sarah(FAM/PMS)Haha yeah. I can go from any topic to something completely the opposite in the blink of an eye. Sometimes weirds my friends out.

NotoriousOkay I know that Leonardo and King Henry were in totally separate boats, hold up now.

NotoriousI have no idea.

Sarah(FAM/PMS)I read that there were many homosexuals in Florence, and at some point people called them "Florentinos" or something like that.

NotoriousOkay as this conversation goes on, I'm slowly dying in my bedroom. It's hot as fuck in here. Condensation is happening on my ceiling out of my blood cells. 😕

Sarah(FAM/PMS)No AC? It's not too bad where I am.

NotoriousOh really? And I'm sure it wasn't widely accepted back then. You know, with the love of the lord and his ways. Homosexuality was a real sin, wasn't it?

NotoriousOh there's AC but the thing is in my living room. The only air in here is what is being pulled through my lungs and out. I think that comes from the small crack in my window. Which is closed.

Sarah(FAM/PMS)Yup, I think he was arrested on the charges of being gay (caught with a prostitute) but I'm thinking his status got him out of it.

Sarah(FAM/PMS)Is it warmer outside? I'd open the window for some circulation, if not.

NotoriousHm. Are there many famous pieces of artwork that he has made of men? Is that why research points to homosexuality? Or did he write it in his notes? (Not including being arrested, although that is a compelling piece of information.)

NotoriousIt's pretty decent outside but I keep the AC on anyway. It brings in cool, wet air. If one is in the living room, that is.

Sarah(FAM/PMS)Well, I don't know. It's generally accepted that he was, but not proven. He never married, was arrested for homosexuality, and had some drawings in his notes of men. He also didn't follow the Catholic Church's rules (his anatomy studies)

PenPineappleApplePenLove conquers all

SerpentineHate? Idk. . . . .

SerpentineThis is a tough choice.
