L. LawlietFair enough, I've read a few more of your questions, and it appears to be chronic depression you suffer from. In this case, one of the more natural of relieving long term depression is - believe it or not - exercise. Exercise allows the brain to release endorphins, in turn making you happier, and the more commonly you exercise, the less depressed you become in the long run. Not only that, but most of the time, people walk away with a sense of fulfillment and over time, a higher self esteem. Try this out if you have not already, it'll be tough to start, but it will become easier - so please, stick with it.

AmonnaTry meditation or yoga, it sounds weird but that is just because people don't understand it, it is very relaxing and beneficial and let's you get a hold of your thoughts.

Inactivetry to take a shower before bed and seek therapy I'm twelve and I have bipolar, depression anxiety and a very slight schizophrenia... I know how you feel..schizophrenia makes me hear and see things that aren't there... Trying to sleep with noise that sounds like constant chatter in your head for years isn't easy...

When i am really depressed,i often cry it all out, afterwards i already fell a bit better, you should really try to distract yourself!

noe@Nikola depends on what music. But I read that people who spend much time on linstening music are more likely to get depressed, but that doesn't have to be true for everyone... I can only speak for myself and in my case, music made me sadder..sure it is a distraction but it kinda makes you built your own little world in your hand, so you start living in this world and you isolate yourself.. You escape in this world because it is better than your actual life...

Kim HartleyThats a really hard question to answer without knowing more about why you are depressed. But for starters. Are you feeling depressed a lot without any specific reason? Or are you depressed because something specific has happened, which has made you depressed? By that I mean something that would make most ppl upset, such as a break up, someone has died, a disagreement with a friend, problems at work, problems with your parents or partner, money problems... Etc If you are down but don't really understand why, and this has been going on for more than a few days, talk to a good friend. If they dont understand, find someone else, and keep doing this till you find someone who can help. If you dont have friends or family who you think can help, try talking to a pastor/elder/minister at a local church (even if u havent ever been to church) and again if the firsg pastor u approach isnt able to understand, go to another church and try again.. And keep doing that. The main thing is finding someone who is able to hear u and take u seriously. If you are depressed for a specific reason, such as breakup, death, relationship, work, family or money problems, try and step outside your own feelings And experiences of the situation and imagine yourself as the other person. If its someone you know does love u, but seems to be acting in a hurtful way right now, instead of asking why they are being so horrible, say to yourself "i know they wouldn't intentionally ever choose to hurt me.. so there must be something else which has caused them to behave in this way" and then try and think about whay might be going on with that person. It may be they dont realise they have upset you, or if they do, they felt they had no other choice, for whatever reason. If you still cant figure ut why they have done or said something to hurt u, try asking them from this same perspective, ie rather than "how could you do/say that!?!" Try "I know you would never intentionally hurt me, so there MUST be something that I don't know about which is the reason for you doing/saying [whatever they did or said that upset you]

ShannaSadly, it's very common for me. I deal with bullies at school, and I believe every word. I started doing some STUPID STUPID things to feel because I felt so numb. I can't take away the pain, but I'm always here if you need to chat.

User 2135480Watching funny things, like cats failing at jumps. Listen to music, draw, watch a movie, go talk to a friend or parent, do whatever helps. You could actually go to a therapist also. Just make sure they have a lot of experience and that their personality makes you comfortable.

OrangeShirtcontact those that care about you. I was in the same place you are and they helped me out of that place. I wish I had asked for them sooner. In the long term you should work to identify what is missing in your life and try and find it. For me it was that I was alone. Your choices all were things that distract you. Thinking why you are feeling the way you do instead of avoiding it is important if you want to get out of that place.
