Emily WeberI believe that it depends on the person and their situation or crime. Some people really do deserve second chances and others don't...! Really it is not up to me to decide if someone should live or die its the lords decision, but I do believe that even if a person is not sentenced the death penalty they will still suffer and feel pain! (if they truly have a conscious) Because night and day almost 24/7 all they will almost think about is their crime and sadly the innocent victims! Now when it's the death penalty I believe you die immediately, meet The Lord, and he chooses your fate (punishment) from there!

We've all heard of cases of a person being in jail for 20 years, and then evidence is found proving them innocent... I wouldn't want that on my shoulders.

And even if they did change and become good people, why would it matter? They still ruined and/or taken away lives. They can't make up for that. They can't do any good in a cell to try to counter the evil they've done. They can't take anything back. All they can do is realize what they did was wrong and hate themselves for it. Sitting in a cell surrounded by criminals hating yourself for your entire life.... I'd much rather die than do that
