Pop singers are virtually talentless, kids these days don't appreciate good, solid rock! Pierce the Veil? My Chem? No?

BabbleIt depends. Autotuned, flat, dippity doo 'romance' bullshit, yes. But there is a rare 'traditional pop singer' with talent and without autotune.

Emma_Here@Babble You don't see a lot of those anymore, which makes me sort of sad. And when you do see them, kids still prefer Nicki Minaj over the artists with real talent.

emraldYEI know right?!?!?!?!?!? The /instruments/ in pop songs don't even sound real anymore. At least around 5 years ago there were lots of drums in the songs. Rock is full of crazy guitar and drum solos, and the singers can actually sing.

Emma_Here@emraldYE Exactly! While I like a lot of more modern rock, I am a fan of some older stuff and I completely agree with you. These days, people think '5 Seconds of Summer.' More like 5 Seconds of My Life I'm Not Getting Back.

Babble@Emma_Here Totally agree. Five seconds of summer owe me five seconds of my time. Now, out of the pop singers, I'll admit I like to listen to Ed Sheeran, Train (not really pop but eh) and some of One Directions later work. No, I won't take that back. Personally I think once they worked out how to make a song suit them, they got a little better. But 1D are not by any means a good band, but some songs you have to admit are pretty decent.

Shinedown01i love MCR, green day, shinedown, foo fighters, jimmy eat world, of mice & men, five finger death punch, avenged sevonfold, Jamestown story, nickleback. Those are good bands

Emma_Here@Babble Ed Sheeran is pretty good. I just think kids should learn 'Nicki Minaj' is NOT by any means a musician...

Babble@Emma_Here No, she isn't. But all is not lost for her. She does, in fact, have a little bit of raw talent. I can hear it. But instead of training and working hard, she covers up her unpractised voice with autotune and her signature make up. It doesn't help, either, that her lyrics are not really magnum opus work. To quote: "You a stupid hoe, you a you a stupid hoe."

Emma_Here@Babble Exactly. If she stopped hiding behind barbie pink lipstick and vocal editing, she would actually be quite talented. It's her own lack of motivation and her over-dependence on sound perfectors that wipes away the talent she has.

DanielI agree but there are better rock bands than those

MyChemicalRomance10I'm actually in 5th grade but I have a sister who taught me what good music was

MyChemicalRomance10Not saying pop isn't good I actually like some pop music
