I've tried sleeping on my stomach and it is truly one of the most uncomfortable ways to sleep. Don't know how babies do it. I've also tried sleeping without a pillow in my bed and that also sucks.

On my Bed

@Notorious babies do not sleep on their stomachs, they sleep on their backs, because if you lay them on their stomachs, then they will die, because their breathing would be closing in on them.
