im sure Chinese is really hard, but i think there is one more: swiss german. If you aren't a native speaker, you'll never learn it!! So you can learn to understand and also to talk, but you'll never really learn it!! You'll always make mistakes, cause it's so tricky! I could prove it, cause my mum lives in switzerland since more than 20 years and she never learned it right!! And she isn't dumb!! And it's only a spoken language, so there are no books for example and the language doesn't really have a grammar... And there are so many dialects that a word can be pronounced perhaps in 5 different ways or more...

@caro111 for you, maybe not. However, it's actually a fact that it's the most challenging language to learn. Well, for most people, anyway. English is difficult because of the grammar and the structure. For example, your 'I just began two years ago' is incorrect. It should be 'I had begun learning it two years ago...' Difficult, right? But you're doing pretty well. Keep up the good work.

@Miajls English is pretty hard though. Even for a fluent speaker, but they still wouldn't know it because almost everyone breaks the structural and grammatical rules. For example, it should be *If I went to China and they were trying to teach me their language... But I'm sure you already knew that.

I'm not voicing my opinion, guys. It's an actual fact that English is the hardest language.

@Zoë of course i make mistakes!! And every grammar has its difficulties!! But english is compared with others really easy, you have for example only 3 cases, (like genitive) in german there are 4 and in polish even 7!! So there are for every noun 7 different forms!! English is the most learned language, but definitely NOT the hardest!!

@caro111 please understand that I'm not stating my opinion. It's a FACT that English is one of the most difficult languages to learn. A fact. I'm not talking about the most learned language, I'm talking about the most difficult. One of them being English.
