My argument - Christianity is not real

well it's /real/ but i dont believe it to be true

Today I feel religion is just an excuse for people to treat others badly and start wars.....once religion and gods meant something to the people (such as the Aztecs and people like that) but today it has evolved into something worthless.....

Is there a god? Possibly, but it's not likely. Is everything in the bible true? Possibly, but it's /extremely/ unlikely. Is religion bad overall? It's debatable. In the past religion has advanced society/pushed it forward and on a personal level it can be very beneficial to some people, but it has also caused wars and unjust judgements and brainwashes people and in doing so, slowed human progression. Is Christianity any better or more realistic or likely than any other religion, including those of ancient Egyptians? No.

I believe there is a god but I'm very skeptical of the bible, and though I'm technically baptized as a Presbyterian, I haven't been to church in years. I'm very much so supportive of gay rights and a woman's right to choose abortion (things most Christians do not agree with). Idk, I feel like the universe is so complex that perhaps there is some higher being directing it all.

the thing is, i dont believe but cause i can't prove that i admit there might be a higher being. A lot of christians dont realise they have no proof to prove he exists so they should really admit there is a possibility he might not exist

and i find christianity to be one of the least believeable religions personally

Basically what I said was that I do believe in a god but I don't agree with what's in the bible. I've been baptized as Presbyterian but I haven't been to church in years.

I just feel that the universe is so complex that perhaps there is some higher up deity controlling it all. I like to believe there'll be a life after death.

i'd like to but i just can't. I find the notion of heaven or hell to unrealistic to believe in

@🎩Llew🎩 nah it's accepted here, it's just that the few people who protest against it are louder so it seems like there's more of em lol Well, kids and old people usually aren't as open minded, but teens and adults are.

my religion of Swiss cheese doesn't have these kind of issues

Yeah...a majority of the people I know are atheist. Maybe that's because I go to a school that's really really liberal and artsy. Idk

I was raised deeply Catholic. I do consider myself to be a religious man, Catholic specifically. However, I absolutely recognize that MANY religious traditions and laws are flawed, outdated, and some just plain wrong.

@CalvnKlein, After all, these religious laws were written by men, who are inherently flawed and imperfect (with personal biases, prejudices, etc...)

@CalvnKlein Do you consider yourself more "culturally" Catholic? I know a lot of Jewish people who consider themselves culturally Jewish, and your reasoning sounds really similar to theirs. If you believe religious laws are written by men, and not by a supernatural force, then it seems that points to you being more culturally Catholic, perhaps.
