What are the defining differences between reality and fantasy? Discuss in the comments

Reality is what surounds yo, what's real. Fantasy is all made up, it's in your head, it's what your mind creates.

But lava, dinosaurs, midgets, and many other things aren't around me but they're all considered real, so how do you know what's real and what isn't? Fabrications if the mind are fantasy, yet everything we perceive for all we know could be fabrications of our minds...we could be in a coma or in the Matrix right now and have no idea. (not trying to be an asshole, just discussing)

Yeah I get it. The thing you mentionned with coma is really interesting. I'm really often questionning if I'm in a coma or not. Also, I often think that everybody is in there own world, all made up by yourself, the people around you were all just an imagination by your mind.

@noe Haha yea I thought that same thing too all the time a few years back, but now I realized that even if this all was fake I wouldn't really care

@noe some would argue it matters because if you're in a coma right now your life has no real meaning, but I don't think anything has meaning to it so ya know
