I do ballet and although it's an art. It requires lots of practice and time. It's a lot more challenging than any other sport I know. Dance is a sport. I see it as one, not many people do, but I do.

see but, playing the cello to a high standard requires practice, time and patience. It's a lot more challenging than a lot of sport but that doesnt make it one

In my eyes. Sport would be something which is required to challenge you physically (which dance does) but it also myst be something in which you react in the moment. You change your mind based on what you see unfolding in front of you

dance does not do that. It is all pre-choreographed

@🎩Llew🎩 Being required to "see something unfolding in front of you" doesn't make it a sport. That isn't even in the definition on what a sport is. Playing the cello will never be a sport as it does not have you doing anything Psychical(other then use your fingers). It's a form of Art, not a sport.

Dancers need flexibility and strength, just like other athletes, and the definition of a sport is an activity involving physical exertion in which an individual or team competes against another for entertainment. Nothing about "reacting to the moment"

I said "in my eyes". I think sport is something which requires reacting in the moment. To me it will never be considered a sport. I find it to be like singing. Opera singers spend years training and practicing and some have been known to collaps after shows due to exhaustion. I put dance in the same category

@tessma12 the cello point was that just because it takes a long time to practice and perfect it doesnt make it a sport

@🎩Llew🎩 Yes, but it requires little to no Psychical stuff(other then moving your hands and fingers) I basically said in my other comment What Tessma12 said.

But my point was that the time and practice count for nothing in sport
