Do you think self harming is more commonly done because its widely talked about?

My friend says her sis does it to her but the rest of my friends know that she self harms coz she is poor n is surrounded by her parents fighting!

Most people don't self harm for attention and it annoys me when people say they do! They all have good reasons! Some do it for attention, but not many
