I disliked the book very much. All the characters sounded exactly the same. And the entire story went like this: Shit, I have cancer. I want to die. Hey this guy is interesting. (Witty comments, witty comments) I can't breath. Van Houten is an asshole. Oh I think I'll live now.

I think the teen characters in the story were totally inaccurate depictions of teen characters in real life. Nobody talks that way. Like, come on now. Everyone was too witty and intelligent for it to be natural.

Only Van Houten showed some slight difference with his asshole-like behaviors.

Yeah, i understand why you could think that but the teens in the book still touched my heart the way they loved each other even when there serious problems in their health.

@Hazel-Grace❤Augustus That I agree with. It was rather touching in a way I guess. But I don't want to pity them simply because they had various cancers. And I think that's what this story intended. And to also maybe peek into the lives of a cancer patient.

It was interesting, I'll give ya that. I also liked hearing about the suffering these teens went through because it builds a better understanding for me about what it feels like to have lung cancer or others. I am thankful that I have no major health issues or bodily imperfections.

@Emma Thank you. I did have to write an essay on it for school lol. So over analyzing was necessary. I think that's good to do regardless. Really jump into a book and find out what it means.

I thought Augustus was a stupid name, no offense to John Green😂 and they were all to pretentious, and some of the time they two were trying to be "deep" they were wrong.

Once Hazel said "cancer is a side affect of dying" and it made no sense. Dying is a side affect of cancer, duh.
