Help on how to talk to him? It's probably best for you to be honest with him, you should never hide your true self. If you have any siblings or another adult you're close to (mom?) you could tell them, and have them help your dad to understand.

Perhaps your dad's point of view will change if you are open about yourself. He may need some time to adjust/understand.
