I'm sorry for anyone who feels this is the only option. May god help you and may you know that you are loved by some one.

As always Miranda, your question is thought provoking. I am generally in favor of a person choosing death over suffering, but how do you distinguish when a person's level of suffering has reached the level to deserve the option (or right, depending on your ideaology) and when it is simply a quick exit to what could potentially be a situation that could resolve itself and lead to a full, natural life?

@TheDart Making people think is the goal! ☺
Yeah, I think if it's painful enough for someone to want to die, the severity is high enough where they should have the option, but at the same time of they have a slight chance at a happy future but don't realize this or aren't sure if it's worth it to them, it would be a really hard decision

I guess if I had to write legislation legalizing euthanasia I would have to differentiate between the terminally ill (physically) and those who "feel" they can't go on.

Yea that'd probably be a good idea... But even still, what if some of the people that don't feel like they can go on can't get any better mentally? Should they still have to suffer for their entire lives because they don't have a terminal illness? Although, there is no real way of telling if one is capable of recovery or not, so maybe it's better to say there's always a slim chance they will and therefore the option shouldn't be available... I don't know xD
