Should we question everything we've ever been told or discovered: everything in our lives?

Well, we should never be drones. we're humans with brains and we should always use them. It's normal to question things, but over analyzing doesn't seem healthy

All the information we know we've either been told or we found out ourselves using information we've been told. What if the basic information we've been told is inaccurate? We've all been told the same basic information over many generations, is it possible that some of that information is either wrong or has been altered over the years? Then everything we know could be wrong... #RamblingThougts

Well if there aren't any questions there aren't any answers and without answers there are no explanations. Without an explanation or reason there is no knowledge

there's always time for reflection and reevaluation. you can hear one thing but experience it in a different way, or prove the original theory incorrect.

@Azra Also true, but again, the question isn't asking if we should question things in general, it's among if we should question EVERYTHING. Do you think that's taking it too far? Do you think that can be confusing or harm us in any way? Are there things that are better left alone than questioned/challenged? Are there some things that if they are disproven, it will have a negative result?

@👑MirandaKnowsWhat'sUp👑 probably, but is it better to have better understanding than to be ignorant to something which could prove to be useful?

@Llew But it could also prove to be harmful... Is it worth the gamble?

@👑MirandaKnowsWhat'sUp👑 what if it leads to finding a cure to cancer further down the road? What if it leads to finding a solution to global warming? Is it worth gambling that it won't?

@Llew But what if information is discovered that, for example, disproves religion? Many people would become depressed after realizing something they've based their lives on is a lie, theocracies (or whatever governments that are linked to religion are called) would be destroyed, many people would lose hope for a better future, some people would be discouraged to do good deeds, large parts of many places' cultures would be lost, I bet there'd be a lot of fits and shit about it and conspiracies, so what I'm trying to say is: shit would hit the fan

Ipsa scientia potestas est. Knowledge is power. That's why we have to ask should we question everything? If a new answer is discovered like u said, with dissproving religion, that person would become one of the most powerful person in the world

@Llew All the people who were strong atheists before he/she disproved religion would worship him/her xD so I guess that's true, but all the religious people would hunt him/her down... And would one person having such an influence on the whole world be good, bad, or not matter? Should anyone have such great power? Hmph. Probably not. So I guess the answer is: we should question most things, but realize what information we may receive before we do and make sure only good things can come from questioning it first...

@👑MirandaKnowsWhat'sUp👑 some times though, u gotta roll the dice. What if the answer could lead to understanding the universe and life on other planets while also possibly dissproving or proving in a higher being?

@Llew Disproving or proving a higher being could fuck shit up, discovering information on life would just be like "Ooooh looky what the science men did!", it wouldn't really benefit our lives in any way, we'd just have less questions. So I think with that one I'd leave it alone

@Llew If the possible outcomes are truly balanced or if the government kept harmful information from the public, the gamble would be alright I guess...
