I think believing in God is more than just the Bible. I'll be honest. I haven't read the bible, but I am a firm believer that there is a God. Many may say I'm not a real Christian for this reason, but I believe is God and I believe your fate after this life is determined by how you live. I don't think someone will go to hell for wearing a mixture of clothing fabrics (apparently a part of the bible says this is a sin). And I honestly don't believe gays go to hell. I think God is an accepting being who decides your fate on whether or not you lives a good life and was a good person. If you murdered someone or raped someone or committed some crime that deeply hurt another person, then yes, I think you'll go to hell.
@👊Duchessjohanna👊 I hope it's like that and that's how I always imagined it, but you and me are making this assumption on how we /want/ the afterlife to be and what we think is right according to our morals. We have no proof that this is what God wants and we won't know until we die
@👑MirandaKnowsWhat'sUp👑 technically, I was baptized as a Presbyterian but I haven't attended church since I was like 4. Mostly because it doesn't fit with my family's schedule. But I do believe in God.
@👑MirandaKnowsWhat'sUp👑 yeah Idk i live in a family where religion was never really forced onto us. Like when my grandfather died my mom told us he was safe with god in heaven. But my parents were never real pushers when it came to religion.
Well, I don't care if god wrote a book made a really long time ago, cause I don't believe in it. Bhudda didn't make a book either, but I'm bhuddist anyways cause I believe in equality and peace and especially love.
To answer ur question, Miranda, I am a beginner bhuddist. I just started a few months ago, before that I was atheist. I found out that intense bhuddists are called monks, (the people who shave their heads and i don't know why), and they go to a sacred church-type thing where they pray to certain sculptures relating to Bhudda. I don't do that, I just look up into the sky and let my arms put as I cross my feet criss-cross. Then i close my eyes and breath. That's meditating, basically. ❤😊
most of christianity was decided upon in a meeting in ancient rome where they wrote the bible and created the religion they took and ancient egyptian sympol to create the cross as a symbol of christianity
@Llew But some of the ideas they put into the Bible could be misinterpretations, then. For example, the homosexuality thing. They may have just made the assumption their supposed god would be against it when really he isn't. Ya know what I mean?
@lexi😘 it's true and most of the christianity holidays match ancient pagan holidays which was the main roman religion back then. Easter was originally a pagan holiday but they changed it to go with their new religion
@👑MirandaKnowsWhat'sUp👑 one of Gods deciples wrote it from hi toungeif I want to lern more about the religion either go to church of look online don't ask an app where people can write the own opinion freely I have a lot of testimonies that would make you believe in God
@lexi😘 hang on now. People aren't allowed to write down their opinions and theories on this app freely? And we aren't dispproving ur God/gods we are simply discussing possible theories since itakes for an interesting, intellectual conversation
@Llew that's not what I said I'm saying people can say something lik um an example... God is Jesus' brother and he killed him... It's not true but a nonbeliever can think it's true when it's not and she could believe that and have a terrible opinion another the religion
@Llew I suppose they could be true because the possibilities are endless ^.^ but they could also be false, so I just take what I can from them- the morals you learn from the stories are more import than the stories themselves, in my opinion
@👑MirandaKnowsWhat'sUp👑 i mean i think people take it to seriously when they go against gays because the bible says a man should lie down with a woman or something. I think in times like that people need to be more open minded about the bible
@lexi😘 im saying whereas long long time ago it would have been frowned upon to be gay and to sleep with a member of the same sex wheras now it's accepted (except russia) to be gay. It's the same as women used to be excpected to stay at home and tend to their husbands now however they are more likely to lead their own lives
@lexi😘 Agreed! And a lot of atheists assume all Christains are dumb and don't think for themselves because they follow all the same rules without questioning it and believe in stories just because they are told to. Not all Christains are like that though. Some form their own opinions, question the information given to them, interpret things in different ways, see things as metaphors and not facts, etc.
Sooo what were we talking about?
I think it's amazing and awesome that people go to such lengths to find out the secrets in the world (scientists and whatnot) but I doubt anyone will ever succeed. I also think it's great when people try to link religion and science, instead of viewing them as two separate things.
12 year olds are in either 7th grade I think
@lexi😘 Oh alright, so the spark faded away. It really sucks when that happens, but it's usually best to end it there. When the spark is fading, it's very difficult to make it into a fire again (if you get my metaphor lol). I think, unless it's really really important to you for you two to keep dating, it's time to end it, recover, and meet some new people. This probably sounds awful now, but I assure I you'll move on and feel better
