Downs Syndrome and Autism are both NOT a mental illness they are a brain disfunction. Autism is a complex neurobiological disorder that typically lasts throughout a person's lifetime. And Down syndrome (DS) or Down's syndrome, also known as trisomy 21, is a genetic disorder caused by the presence of all or part of a third copy of chromosome 21. Down syndrome is the most common chromosome abnormality in humans.

I studied plenty of mental health in college and autism is considered a mental health illness listed in the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) Any ways regardless of this I can't believe the majority vote goes to saying Crazy is the first word that enters peoples minds. As a person who works with many amazing children with mental health disorders I can advocate for them and say that they are are beautiful children that have so much to give and are often misunderstood. The furthest away from crazy!

The fact that the majority chose crazy is sad. I was diagnosed with ADHD as a kid. It's not bad, (and luckilly, I don't act crazy) but I hate it when people tell me, and other people with worse conditions that we're faking and need to 'snap out of it'. Why would I fake a mental illness for attention? It's offensive and disrespectful to others who have to deal with it everyday of their lives.
